Prelude The Heart of Worship Rejuvenate
Lighting of the Altar Candles
Call to Worship (Clergy Stuff)
LEADER: Come into this holy house, built by love.
ALL: Our God has built this holy house.
LEADER: Not a church building made by human hands,
ALL: But this community, the Body of Christ.
LEADER: Come into this place with your siblings in Christ.
ALL: We come with joy to worship our God.
Opening Prayer (Clergy Stuff)
Almighty God, Even Jesus became angry at the sight of injustice being done in your name. Rouse us from our complacency and spur us to action on behalf of the marginalized and oppressed, for the sake of Jesus Christ, who calls us to follow him. In his name we pray. Amen.
*Opening Song How Lovely, Lord, How Lovely (TFWS 2042)
- How lovely, Lord, how lovely
is your abiding place;
my soul is longing, fainting,
to feast upon your grace.
The sparrow finds a shelter,
a place to build her nest;
and so your temple calls us
within its walls to rest.
- In your blest courts
to worship,
O God, a single day
is better than
a thousand
if I from you should stray.
I’d rather keep the entrance
and claim you as my Lord
than revel in the riches
the ways of sin afford.
- A sun and shield
forever are you,
O God most high;
you shower us
with blessings
no good will you deny.
The saints, your grace receiving,
from strength to strength
shall go,
and from their life shall
rivers of blessings overflow.

RESPONDING
*Sermon Song All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name (UMH 155)
- All hail the power
of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall,
let angels prostrate fall;
bring forth the
royal diadem,
and crown
(crown him, crown him,
crown him, crown him,)
him,
crown him, crown him,
crown him, and crown him
Lord of all.
- Ye chosen seed
of Israel’s race,
ye ransomed from the fall,
ye ransomed from the fall,
hail him who saves
you by his grace,
and crown
(crown him, crown him,
crown him, crown him,)
him,
crown him, crown him,
crown him, and crown him
Lord of all.
- Sinners, whose love
can ne’er forget
the wormwood and the gall,
the wormwood and the gall,
go spread your
trophies at his feet,
and crown
(crown him, crown him,
crown him, crown him,)
him,
crown him, crown him,
crown him, and crown him
Lord of all.
- Let every kindred,
every tribe
on this terrestrial ball,
on this terrestrial ball,
to him all
majesty ascribe,
and crown
(crown him, crown him,
crown him, crown him,)
him,
crown him, crown him,
crown him, and crown him
Lord of all.
- Crown him, ye martyrs
of your God,
who from his altar call,
who from his altar call;
extol the Stem
of Jesse’s Rod,
and crown
(crown him, crown him,
crown him, crown him,)
Him,
crown him, crown him,
crown him, and crown him
Lord of all.
- O that with yonder
sacred throng
we at his feet may fall,
we at his feet may fall!
We’ll join the
everlasting song,
and crown
(crown him, crown him,
crown him, crown him,)
him,
crown him, crown him,
crown him, and crown him
Lord of all.
God of light, hear our prayers.
The Lord’s Prayer (Spoken)
All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Offertory
*Offering Response Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow (UMH 94)
*Prayer of Dedication (Clergy Stuff)
All: God of abundance, you provide all we need each day to live our lives to you. Make us good stewards of your gifts, that with humble hearts we might continue to offer them, as we do today, for your work of justice in the world. Amen.
SENDING
*Closing Song Stand Up, stand Up for Jesus (UMH 514)
- Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
ye soldiers of the cross;
lift high his royal banner,
it must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory
his army shall he lead,
till every foe is vanquished,
and Christ is Lord indeed.
- Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
the trumpet call obey;
forth to the mighty conflict,
in this his glorious day.
Ye that are brave now serve him
against unnumbered foes;
let courage rise with danger,
and strength to strength oppose.
- Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
stand in his strength alone;
the arm of flesh will fail you,
ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the gospel armor,
each piece put on with prayer;
where duty calls or danger,
be never wanting there.
- Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
the strife will not be long,
this day the noise of battle,
the next the victor’s song.
To those who vanquish evil
a crown of life shall be;
they with the King of Glory
shall reign eternally.
