Welcome to Arnolia!

As a church, our Mission is to Follow Jesus, Grow Disciples, and Serve Others.  Our purpose is to Gather as followers of Jesus Christ, Grow as disciples, Give of ourselves, and Go into the world in service.

Our Values

As a community of faith at Arnolia United Methodist Church, we are committed to living out our faith and embodying God’s love through these core values:
Community

We foster a warm community where all feel like they belong. We support one another through the ups and downs, as well as the doubts, of life and faith.

Discipleship
We are committed to growing our faith together, encouraging one another to deepen our relationship with God and live out our faith in our daily lives.
Evangelism
We proclaim God’s relentless love for all people as witnessed in the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Generous Hospitality

We embody Jesus’ love for others by giving of our presence, gifts, and service as we hold sacred space that welcomes all people.

Inclusivity

We believe that all persons are of sacred worth, worthy of love and belonging. We strive to be a church community where everyone is welcome without exception.

Justice

We are called to seek justice for all. We strive to embody God's love and compassion in our community and the world.

Prayer

We acknowledge that prayer is the way that we keep our hearts connected to the heart of God and seek God’s heart in individual and communal prayer whenever we can.

Our Vision

We adopted the vision of the United Methodist Church as our own.

As a United Methodist Congregation, our vision is that we form disciples of Jesus Christ, who, empowered by the Holy Spirit, love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously here in Parkville, MD.

Love Boldly: We passionately love God and, like Jesus, embrace and include people of every age, nation, race, gender, and walk of life. (Matthew 22:37-39 | John 13:34-35)

Serve Joyfully:  With the heart of Christ, we journey alongside the most vulnerable among us, offering care and compassion with joy. (Psalm 100:1 | Nehemiah 8:10 | John 13:14-15 | 1 Peter 4:10)

Lead Courageously: Following Jesus’ example, we resist and dismantle all systems of evil, injustice, and oppression, striving for peace, justice, and reconciliation. (Joshua 1:9 | Ephesians 6:10)
