On October 10th, Woodhome and ActiveMinds had to close early because of a lack of water in our building. Luckily, Craig, Drennan, and Dave were able to leap into action and got Baltimore City to shut off the water, locate the main line that had rusted out on both sides of our water meter, and install a new water meter as quickly as possible, thanks to our two educational partners. By Saturday morning, Craig had gotten Catons Plumbing to fix our portion of the pipe and reconnect us, and we had the water restored by 2:31 PM on Saturday.

Having water in our building ensures that our two educational partners, the thrift store, and our programs can all run effectively. As we expand to partner with more local community members, such as our upcoming District 8 Community Town Hall Meeting, having water running to our facility not only enables us to access the building but also opens it up to more community partners. The $6,000 bill to connect the pipes shown in the above image exceeded our anticipated and budgeted amount for building maintenance. Any support to help recoup this loss so that we can continue to serve the larger Parkville Community is greatly appreciated.
