Prelude: The Heart of Worship- Rejuvenate
Lighting of the Altar Candles
Call to Worship (clergy stuff)
LEADER: Our God does not live in a house built by human hands,
ALL: Yet our God is present here with us in this place.
LEADER: Let us worship God in this holy house,
ALL: And carry this worship into the world.
Opening Prayer (clergy stuff)
LEADER: Unbounded God,
ALL: All of creation is your temple and your dwelling place. Fill us with wonder and joy at your presence in all that you have made. Help us to treat the natural world and all that is in it with respect and care, that all might dwell here together in peace. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
*Opening Song: Together We Serve (TFWS 2175)
1. Together we serve,
united by love,
inviting God's world to
the glorious feast.
We work and we pray
through sorrow and joy,
extending your love
to the last
and the least.
2. We seek to become
a beacon of hope,
a lamp for the heart
and a light for the feet.
We learn, year by year,
to let love shine through
until we see Christ i
n each person we meet.
3. We welcome the scarred,
the wealthy, the poor,
the busy, the lonely,
and all who need care.
We offer a home
to those who will come,
our hands quick to help,
our hearts ready to dare.
4. Together, by grace,
we witness and work,
remembering Jesus,
in whom we grow strong.
Together we serve
in Spirit and truth,
remembering love is
the strength of our song.

RESPONDING
*Sermon Song: Built on a Rock (Words on screen)
1. Build on the Rock, the church shall stand
even when steeples are falling;
Christ builds his church in every land;
bells still are chiming and calling,
calling the young and old to rest,
calling the souls of those distressed,
longing for life everlasting.
2. Not in a temple made with hands
God the Almighty is dwelling;
high in the heavens his temple stands,
all earthly temples excelling.
Yet he who dwells in heaven above
chooses to live with us in love,
making our bodies his temple.
3. We are God’s house of living stones,
built for his own habitation;
he fills our hearts, his humble thrones,
granting us life and salvation.
Yet to this place, an earthly frame,
we come with thanks to praise his name;
God grants people true blessing.
Prayers of the People
Leader: God of Promise, All: hear our prayer.
The Lord's Prayer
All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

*Closing Song: Lord, Whose Love Through Humble Service (UMH 581)
1. Lord, whose love
through humble service
Bore the weight
of human need,
Who upon the Cross,
forsaken,
offered mercy’s
perfect deed:
we, your servants,
bring the worship
not of voice alone,
but heart,
consecrating
to your purpose.
every gift
that you impart.
2. Still thy children
wander homeless;
still the hungry
cry for bread;
still the captives
long for freedom;
still in grief
we mourn our dead.
As, O Lord,
your deep compassion
healed the sick
and freed the soul,
Use the love thy use the love
your Spirit kindles
still to save
and make us whole.
3. As we worship,
grant us vision,
till thy love’s
revealing light,
In its height
and depth and greatness
dawns upon
our quickened sight,
making known
the needs and burdens
your compassion
bids us bear,
stirring us to
tireless striving
your abundant
life to share.
4. Called by worship
to your service,
forth in your
dear name we go,
to the child,
the youth, the aged,
love in living
deeds to show,;
hope and health,
good will and comfort,
counsel, aid,
and peace we give,
that your servants,
Lord, in freedom
may thy mercy
know, and live.
