 O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name
in all the earth.
O Lord, our Lord,

 Sermon   “A Child Is Born”

 RESPONDING

 *Sermon Song   Jesus Shall Reign  (UMH 157)

Jesus shall reign
where’er the sun
does its successive
journeys run;
his kingdom spread
from shore to shore,
till moons shall wax
and wane no more.

To Jesus endless
prayer be made,
and endless praises
crown his head;
his name like sweet
perfume shall rise
with every morning
Sacrifice.

People and realms
of every tongue
dwell on his love
with sweetest song;
and infant voices
shall proclaim
their early blessings
on his name.

Blessings abound
where’er he reigns;
all prisoners leap
and loose their chains;
the weary find
eternal rest,
and all who suffer
want are blest.

Let every creature
rise and bring
honors peculiar
to our King;
angels descend
with songs again,
and earth repeat
the loud amen!

Prayers of the People

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer

 The Lord’s Prayer    (spoken)
  All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

Offertory  Craig Nickerson, Organist

 *Prayer of Dedication  (Clergy Stuff)

All: Holy God, we come to you with thankful hearts and set before you our gifts of time, money, and skill in gratitude for all that you have given us. Bless these offerings for the life of the world, that all might experience the light of hope. Amen.

                                                                  SENDING

 *Closing Song Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus   (UMH 196)

Come, thou
long-expected Jesus,
born to set thy people free;
from our fears and sins release us,
let us find our rest in thee.
Israel’s strength and consolation,
hope of all the earth thou art;
dear desire of every nation,
joy of every longing heart.

Born thy people to deliver,
born a child and yet a King,
born to reign in us forever,
now thy gracious
kingdom bring.
By thine own eternal spirit
rule in all our hearts alone;
by thine all
sufficient merit,
raise us to
thy glorious throne.
