RESPONDING

*Sermon Song: Lord Speak To Me (UMH 463)

1. Lord, speak to me, that I may speak in living echoes of thy tone;
as thou hast sought, so let me seek thine erring children lost and lone.

2. O strengthen me, that while I stand firm on the rock, and strong in thee,
I may stretch out a loving hand to wrestlers with the troubled sea.

3. O teach me, Lord, that I may teach the precious things thou dost impart;
and wing my words, that they may reach the hidden depths of many a heart.

4. O fill me with thy fullness, Lord, until my very heart o’erflow
in kindling thought and glowing word, thy love to tell, thy praise to show.

5. O use me, Lord, use even me, just as thou wilt, and when, and where,
until thy blessed face I see, thy rest, thy joy, thy glory share.

Prayers of the People

Leader: God of Promise, All: hear our prayer.

Offertory  The First Song of Isaiah - Chancel Choir

Refrain: Surely, it is God who saves me.
I will trust in Him and not be afraid.
For the Lord is my stronghold and my sure
defense, and He will be my savior.

Alleluia alleluia alleluia

*Prayer of Dedication (clergy stuff)

All: Merciful God, as you provided for your people in the desert, so you provide for all our needs. Accept now our gifts of money, time, and ability, returned to you out of what you have first given us. Use them and us to your good purposes according to your will. Amen.

COMMUNION

Communion Sung Response TFWS 2257a-d

Leader: The Lord be with you.
All: And also with you.
Leader: Lift up your hearts.
All: We lift them up to the Lord.
Leader: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
All: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

...

All: Holy, holy, holy Lord; God of power and might.
Heaven and heart are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna in the highest!
Blest is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna in the highest!

...

All: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.
Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna in the highest!

...

The Lord’s Prayer (Spoken)

All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

Sung: Amen, Amen, Amen.
Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna in the highest!

Sharing the Bread and Cup

All are welcome to receive communion.  We serve bread and individual juice cups or prepackaged wafers and juice.  Gluten-free is also available. If you would like to be served in your seat, let the ushers know.

SENDING

*Closing Song: Glorious Things Of Thee Are Spoken (UMH 731)

1. Glorious things of thee are spoken,
Zion, city of our God;
God, whose word cannot be broken,
formed thee for his own abode.
On the Rock of Ages founded,
what can shake thy sure repose?
With salvation's walls surrounded,
thou mayst smile at all thy foes.

2. See, the streams of living waters,
springing from eternal love,
well supply thy sons and daughters,
and all fear of want remove.
Who can faint while such a river
ever will their thirst assuage?
Grace which like the Lord, the giver,
never fails from age to age.

3. Round each habitation hovering,
see the cloud and fire appear
for a glory and a covering,
showing that the Lord is near!
Thus deriving from our banner
light by night and shade by day,
safe we feed upon the manna
which God gives us when we pray.

4. Blest inhabitants of Zion,
washed in our Redeemer's blood;
Jesus, whom our souls rely on,
makes us monarchs, priests to God.
Us, by his great love, he raises,
rulers over self to reign,
and as priests his solemn praises
we for thankful offering bring.
